There is a finite amount of taste or subtlety here, really. Low brow, to a tee, still there is trick to that. Cameron Diaz has box office appeal, no doubt. I guess the "demands" of this role appealed to her zany side. Damn the torpedo's an' all. She's good here, but can effect much better and has. I too, think the Diaz-Segel chemistry didn't pass the buddy level, much less what's intimated here. Still some of the circumstances are amusing. The "teen" villain is played very well. The other name actors, play parodies of known types, albeit with an economy of effort. Despite much effort to be so, it's not useless.
