    Shane

Shane is one of the greatest westerns in the history of American Westerns, coming in 1950. The cast is so appealing with Alan Ladd as the elusive title character SHANE, Van Heflin as the farmer/rancher, the totally delightful JEAN ARTHUR in one of her last screen roles and Brandon de Wilde as the young boy who cries out the famous words: " Come back, Shane. Come back." It's the typical story of good vs, evil, but in the hands of legendary director George Stevens this was a great picture from the get go and now is hallowed as one of the most iconic of westerns on the silver screen, a veritable classic. It truly is sad that we have so few westerns in this day and age. They can be as great as any other genre of movies. It's all so disgusting the amount of sci-fi c*** we get, horror films and action films that can be totally perposterous with the idiocy of the totally unrealistic violence.
