"Sorry, Wrong Number" is a good if dated feature from 1948. Barbara Stanwyk received her fourth Academy Award Nomination for her portrayal of an invalid wife who happens to hear a murder plot on her PARTY LINE (that really dates the film) Burt Lancaster plays a no good hubby so it's not hard to imagine where this plot will eventually take us. The film is almost a single set decoration as we are in Leona's (the Stanwyk character) bedroom a great deal of the time. The film is based on the acclaimed radio play which starred Agnes Moorehead. I would be willing to bet the radio show was more effective than the film.
