Julianne Moore is the whole show here. Her amazing performance as the accomplished linguistics professor who slowly, inexorably and ironically loses her high-functioning mental capacity is heartbreaking and touching. Alec Baldwin is his usual stolid, reliable self as the sympathetic spouse. I do wish that Kristen Stewart would have removed the marbles from her mouth; so that anything approaching coherent, audible speech might reach the audience seated in the first two rows. It was quite a strain to hear- that which I believed to be- rather beautiful lines delivered by her near the movie's denouement. Otherwise this film is a fine effort.
