Stunningly acted saga of one elderly man's struggle to construct a new house for his ailing wife. For those who hate bureaucracies and those who administer their intractable rules, this movie is a must see. James Cromwell's performance is profoundly emotional and it will be a crying shame if he is not nominated for an Oscar. Genevieve Bujold provides marvellous support as the wife slowly slipping into senility. Never depressing, the film is awe-inspiring. As Bette Davis said," Old age is not for sissies."
