I vividly remember my dad taking me to see the original TMNT as a child and how much I loved it. It's that fond memory and nostalgia that, despite my better judgment, pretty much forced me to see this remake. Now I didn't hate the look of the digital turtles as much as I expected but the same can't be said for Splinter, whose look is an epic misfire. Megan Fox does what she was hired to do, which is to stand there and look pretty and the film does have a decent action sequence down a mountain but it is pretty awful all things considered. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a certain kick out of hearing the old Turtle gang bickering amongst themselves again, but for the most part, this remake is an utter departure from everything I loved about your favorite heroes in a half shell.
