The Day the Earth Stood Still

This Robert Wise early sci-fi thriller captured my imagination (of sorts) as it had a decent script, was well filmed and certainly well honed to capture the craze of possible aliens of that 50's period... Wise got some decent stars for a film that was off-beat for 1951, namely Michael Rennie, Patricia Neal and Hugh Marlow. Watch for AUNT BEA from Mayberry, the Andy Giriffith Show and Billy Bray from Father Knows Best in small supporting roles. Odd but O. K.
