Peculiar story about the real protagonist behind the story of Dog Day Afternoon which featured Al Pacino. John Wojtowicz was a confused and confusing character who was constantly in search of his true identity. The over-sexed, affable John made for an intriguing interview subject who was considered by some to be some sort of heroic "Robin Hood". In actual fact, he is revealed to be a pathetic individual, who endangered people in the bank and in the final analysis was a criminal. Did this story need to be told? I'm not sure. It is for you to decide.
