    The Duke of Burgundy

With The Duke of Burgundy, Peter Strickland has created one of the most visually striking movies I've ever seen (in this sense, on par with one of my favourites: A Single Man) The soundtrack is stunning and a perfect fit for the strange bookish world he's created. I don't typically go for art-films, and while I did find myself a little lost mid-way through and my attention lapsing, the fantastic performances, subtle humor and lush atmosphere kept me rapt. A challenging, but beautiful love story.
