The Hateful Eight

I have always been a big fan of Quentin Tarantino, with Pulp Fiction being on of my all time favorite films. The Hateful Eight, unfortunately, is not on my list of great movies. For one thing, it's way too long. I think a good hour of it should have been left on the cutting room floor. The first half of the film nearly put me to sleep. Things picked up considerably during the second half, as did my interest in what was going on. The dialogue is sharp and witty and the violence was quite brutal and the actors, most of them having appeared in previous Tarantino films, were very good in their roles. The problem with the film is that it moved way too slow at times and though it had some very good moments, the rest of it did little to impress me.
