Just saw The Internet's Own Boy about programming genius Aaron Swartz and a life that became mired in unbelievable matters of the insane kind. His crusading efforts in his belief for free speech and social justice in this technological age led to a nightmare for him and ultimately his entire family. He became deeply mired with enormous burden and trouble as this young, great thinker dared to challenge both corporate interests and the power of the state. Millions of dollars of Aaron's own money and that of his family were consumed in fighting injustice no matter the cost. It's truly sad Aaron committed suicide before a ruling was handed down as he along with his legal team were in a position of winning the case! I suppose he simply could not stand the burden any longer. He fought so long... why could he not have waited a few more days before doing the unmentionable? That is my big question! Though the documentary presents crucial matters, one that would ultimately witness a positive end, Knappenberger's documentary didn't ultimately stir up much fire in me over this enormously waged battle. My rating is based on the DOCUMENTARY not on AARON SWARTZ heroic life.
