    The Iron Lady

Subtract Meryl Streep's uncanny, brilliant, Oscar winning performance from this biopic and you aren't left with a whole lot worth talking about. The film jumps back and forth so often in time that it's impossible to really get immersed in anything. The result is a good deal of aggravation as seemingly important moments in Thatcher's life are glossed over or abandoned altogether. There are a few bravura speechifying moments by Streep, but those few only highlight the less than enthralling majority of the picture that spends far too much time with Thatcher at the end of her life and not enough time on her reign. Worth a look for Streep's performance alone, but on the whole just average.
