1st, I want to thank CinemaMontreal for giving me a free ticket for the advance screening. I went in with a "clean slate", not having seen any trailer or anything. I was expecting an okay movie, nothing great, for I had trouble picturing Robert Downey Junior in this movie. Oh, how I was wrong. This is a sad movie. Sad, but touching, with a few jokes thrown here and there. Great cast by the way. If you want a light movie, this is not it. If you have any experience with death of a close relative, a complicated background with your parents, a past that is haunting you, may have a kid you don't know about, prepare your kleenex for this rollercoaster of emotion. I guess there are a few subtles references that may or may not touch you directly, you be the judge. I had a wonderful evening at the cinema, watching this movie. I came back home, my heart filled with mixed emotions, and the movie still inside of me. This is one of the very few good american dramas, and well enterpreted. For the sentimental ones, go see it. =)
