A bit sappy and predictable at times, over the top and barely believable at others, but nonetheless a poignant, suspenseful and captivating story, brilliantly played by Downey Jr. and Duvall. I can see it being nominated for the Academy Awards. But it brought back memories of August: Osage County, which in my opinion was far superior in screenplay, acting and overall suspense and it was overlooked by the Awards. So we'll see what happens. There's no doubt in my mind that Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall are brilliant superstars so for their performances, because it's a very unique storyline, I say it's worth the time and money to see it on the big screen where it's easiest to get the "larger than life" effect. But you know I'm still wondering if by law it's admissible for a member of a family to defend another in court? Wouldn't there be conflict of interest?
