    The Lord's of Flatbush

Before, Perry King, Sylvester Stallone, Henry Winkler and Paul Pace became famous they were in an absolutely delightful, astounding little indie about a gang of sorts from FLATBUSH in Brooklyn. It was a runaway hit. This late teenage flic is the usual guy mode of friends doing everything together making life a lot more pleasant and easy, but each one understands as they are maturing that a new set of problems will be breathing down their necks in short order.

One of the best thing these four actors have ever done though it was all at the beginning of their careers. This is now a nostalgic piece that must be seen, an almost film historical document that allows us to understand what these four made of an auspicious film debut or near film debut. I must repeat it conjures up a period in American teenage life that has forever disappeared and on that note alone deserves to be seen notwithstanding the amazing script and direction of Martin Davidson and Stephen Verona who must have been shocked at the reception of this gem way back in 1974.
