It was pleasant to see Stiller understate the Mitty character. I enjoyed some of the themes, emphasizing having the courage to experiencing life, the value of personal level friendships as a key aspect of life's experience and general kindness as an approach to life. Was a pleasantly surprised that the trailers included actual Mitty experience, not daydreams. The movie however, played out a little flat, kind of uninspired. The longboarding skills that Mitty displayed rather contradicted the portrait of his past. I also appreciated the Penn character being prepared to experience a view and not let the camera get in the way of the experience.
