This is not a film I expected to see. After seeing the preview I was to be honest lukewarm at best. Then I read some of the reviews on this site and really didn't change my mind. But boyfriends must on occasion bend to the will of their mates, particularly on weekends. So I went with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The story wasn't bad at all, and without giving away one of the final scenes, the story for me communicated something deep about existence and appreciating your life while living it, as well as the presence of others in our lives. If you've been touched by the death of a loved one in your life, you'll probably grasp what I'm saying. Which is probably why those who are in their mid-20's tended to give this film a lower grade. Like Oscar Wilde said: The trouble with youth is that it's wasted on the young.

The main character is a pedophile who seduces a little girl he meets in the meadows. Creepy! In the end, he dies at the hands of his Republican father-in-law. Ridiculous and laughable.
