    Tomorrow Is Forever

A gorgeous, touching not quite "noir film" in which a happily married couple are separated by WWI with extreme consequences arising from the situation. It is thanks to TURNER that one could view this rarely screened film classic with Claudette Colbert at the pinnacle of her career and in great dramatic form, Orson Welles as her husband who undergoes enormous trials and tribulations in the 1914-1918 war that left millions of dead Europeans, Canadians and certainly some Americans who finally got involved in the conflict during the last year of the war. George Brent, ever the trustworthy supporting leading man, comes off very well with the admirable Lucille Watson as the Matriarch, Richard Long as Colbert's son and 5 year old Natalie Wood as a destitute Austrian girl who suffers much more than a five year old ever should! A very moving, quite often sad movie. Definitely a must see!
