I won tickets for this movie and because the premier, at the Scotiabank, was on a school night I wasn't able to take my youngest, he's 11, to attend the screening, which is a damn shame because I believe he would have loved this movie. Though there are a few significant holes in the plot, this is still, none the less, a great movie for kids, and for those who are kids at heart. It is pure fantasy, with stunning visuals, and exciting bloodless actions scenes that are guaranteed to thrill. It is also a film with an important message: our planet is in trouble in so many serious ways that our extinction seems almost inevitable but if we all dream big and put our hearts together then we can reverse that trend and turn our planet into a world of wonder and amazement. When I returned home later that night, after the screening, I urged my wife to take our son to see this film this opening weekend. I know he'll enjoy it immensely.
