    Unstoppable

UNSTOPPABLE on the big screen was a wickedly good thriller, a nail biter if ever there was one. A train is running headlong out of control and we are just as out of control as the suspense just about kills us. It does not let up for a moment; we are at fever pitch throughout this ordeal. I had to re-see this nifty film on DVD as 2 or 3 years have now passed since its original release. I was just as tense and nervous watching it the second time round. Denzel Washington and Chris Pine do excellent work. IF YOU WANT ANOTHER SUPERB FILM WITH THIS SAME THEME YOU HAVE TO SEE ' RUNAWAY TRAIN ' WITH JON VOIGT AND ERIC ROBERTS ( who received a best supporting Oscar nomination.) Runaway Train is probably the best film ever in this genre with Unstoppable a close second. The 2 different versions of THE TAKING OF THE PHELEM 1 2 3, one from the 70's with Walter Matthau and the newer version by TONY SCOTT with Denzel Washington and, I believe, John Travolta are both quite good, but I would say the older film with Walter Matthau from the seventies is slightly superior.
