X-Men: Days of Future Past

This film is everything I had hoped it would be. It is exciting, fast paced, fun, and well done. The X-Men franchise has almost always delivered (minus one disappointing entry) and this new film not only met the franchise standards, but in many areas, exceeded them. It was great to see this large ensemble cast working together, as every member of the cast not only fits their respective roles, but works well with everyone else. Hugh Jackman was great as Wolverine as always, while James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender brought back their respective talents from X-Men First Class. The plot, and the setting for the film are fantastic and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time anticipating what was going to happen. I stayed away from any and all spoilers before seeing this film, and recommend you do the same, even if you usually do not care about spoilers, as it will be highly rewarding. The climax for this film really delivered, and I would go back again just to see the last half hour alone. The effects were stellar, and I really liked how this movie didn't go out of its way just to showcase CGI. The special effects worked with the story without feeling gratuitous. Overall, I loved this film from start to finish, and there wasn't a moment where I wasn't fully immersed in the movie. The acting, effects and story were all top notch, and I didn't walk out of the movie saying "well maybe this scene could have been better." If I had to find a negative, I would say that the 3D doesn't really do much, and that a 2D showing would save you some money without taking anything away from the experience. There was also one minor continuity error that doesn't have any impact, as it was only noticeable for a split second. However, considering this a negative would be nitpicking. I absolutely loved this film and urge you to see it as soon as possible, especially if you are an X-Men fan. Do not miss this movie.
