This movie was better than I expected it to be. I don't know why I keep going to superhero movies because really, they are so stupid. Cars crash, buildings blow up, people get slaughtered and there is always some nonsensical plot involving some other superhero. And none of this has anything to do with reality of course. And why should it? After all, this is fantasy. And I don't mind suspending my believe and entering into a fantasy world but for heaven's sake, please give me story that is believable and seems to matter within the framework of that fantasy. And this movie delivered on that. And the action scenes were actually part of the story ( for the most part ) and not just gratuitous violence ( although there is some of that) The story is the strength of this movie. If you are looking for lots of action, this movie could disappoint. The acting of course is acceptable for this genre. The biggest question is why does someone as talented as Jennifer Lawrence choose to make movies like this? Even in this kind of movie where the acting doesn't really matter, she stands out as a giant.
