A thoroughly entertaining picture that explores what is the paradox of facing inner needs to make choices that alter our lives and our basic inability to understand and foresee all the implications of our choices no matter our age or experience. Mr. Allen demonstrates how personal fears can impel us to sometimes do stupid things and in this story those stupid actions are sometimes comical, sad or even disastrous. Woody Allen asks how do we cope with this paradox and suggests that over time it may come down to what is a desperate hope for more than one chance to get it right. ‘Tall Dark Stranger’ is well written, well acted and above average comedy drama and should not be missed by fans of Woody Allen.
