Avatar was spectacular. The plot was fairly predictable, but it was a technological marvel, which offered many important messages. Parallels can easily be drawn between the war in Iraq, and our reliance on oil consumption. And overall, it presents a really important environmental message. I think it is also so important the younger people and children are idolizing the Na'vi characters, and treating them as role models, that will hopefully inspire them to develop an environmental consciousness. I did not get to see it in 3D, and hope I have the chance to.
