Earth

The film was great, and it had amazing camera work and presented a good message. But there are three things that I did not enjoy 1) There were many animal death and attack scenes, which is fine, but it was advertised as a family friendly film and should have been mentioned in the previews so parents were aware of what they were bringing their families too. 2) More than half of the images were recycled from BBC's Planet Earth. So do not bother going if you have watched planet earth because nothing new is presented. The entire polar bear story showed in the movie is on the planet earth dvd ice worlds. It was fine that they recycled so much information, but again this should have been advertised so people who have seen Planet Earth will know this going into it. 3) This is a more minor concern, but I think more could have been done relating human actions to environmental destruction. There in one scene in particular displaying caribou in the Arctic, and it seemed as though they were setting it up perfectly to discuss problems with oil drilling in Prudhoe Bay and the potential drilling in ANWR. It would have added another dimension to the film, and spurred more of a positive reaction. So overall, this is a very good movie with some serious advertising flaws that I wish I was made aware of.
