This is the uplifting story of a rugby team that helped Nelson Mandela fight apartheid in South Africa. The film is a strange melding of both sports and politics. It has some moving moments and a cast who performs extremely well with uncanny accents, but the sports scenes and the emotional link seemed to not be as present as in some other movies of the genre. Matt Damon, as the leader of the rugby team does not seem to have the great leader role that really gets you rooting for the team. All that said, it is a pleasant film and worth a watch, but not in the best of the genre.
