I'm giving this surprise light-hearted movie a 7 due to being pleasantly surprised by its 1980s-oriented humor. I'm not a Jamie Kennedy fan, but how can you not feel for his character in this innocent film!!! I wanted to see this movie because of the breakdance storyline. But it ends up being more about the 1980s than about breakdance itself. If anything, I was a little disappointed that most of the breakdance routines and chopped up and not shown in longer shots. But the humor, the storyline, the great soundtrack, and Kennedy's performance make this movie truly worth seeing. But don't expect much from Maria Menounos as an actress. She's just got a pretty face, but absolutely no acting chops!!! And a quick note to parents: there is some questionable language and a few sexual references in this film, so don't base yourself solely on the trailer to decide to bring your young kids to this one!!!
