Director/Writer Robert Rossen was still in top form in the sixties when he released this gorgeous film on love, war vets, therapists, the torments and mental problems associated with the young, in this case... but certainly not exclusively associated with them. A great cast of Warren Beatty, the late, lamented Jean Seberg and Peter Fonda draw us into a world that is most unusual, to say the least. The whole Pirandellian theme of 'illusion vs. Reality' is well captured in this disturbing film. The film begs to ask "what is sanity'?
