An honest film about musician Joe Albany with his good, but mainly a life of warts, drugs, seedy characters, a more underbelly society as is quite usual with many jazz greats. The film is related by his daughter Amy who is quite a remarkable girl. What made the film for me is that Amy comes to a life defining moment... You have to see what the adult Amy decides! I'm not much into jazz, thus my score. After all the film is a musical drama and jazz simply irritates me.
