One Night of Love was an Oscar Nominated film from 1934 which made a movie star of the great Metropolitan Opera soprano, Miss Grace Moore who received an Oscar Nomination as Best Actress in her very first film. The film obviously uses the talents of this great American soprano of the thirties in a romance that takes us far and wide as do the careers of opera singers to this day. The operatic selections are exceptional including the rarity of 'Depuis Le Jour' from Charpentier's 'Louise'. Miss Moore who was as beautiful as she was talented made a few more films but died tragically in a plane crash when on tour to sell War Bonds as America was entering WW II. What an immense loss!
