Sparkle

Click here to show this review. I was really finding this movie quite realistic seeing that Sparkle, who later became quite a success. Things began when Sparkle was admired from one of the guys taking Bible study. He had noticed Sparkle practising and realized that she was singing with her own words and melody. Stix wanted her to start out. First she performed on stage to try out. Many people had an eye on her work and this got something going. Things were going well when the sisters agree to have some team which was a success but one of the sisters boyfriend who she got married had abused her a few times and tried to find ways to cover up her face. At one time they were at her sisters place. There was more violence and one of the sisters was hurt and got involved of fighting and had no choice to self defence and husband was ended up killed. Delores was very violent and was taking drugs with her husband when all the abuses were going on. The Sparkle and the other sister were trying to defend one another but it was a disaster. Later on Sparkle wanted to continue doing performances alone and it ended up that she became a star and things went well. Her mother at first was not an easy person having her daughters to be pushed around and not accepting their boyfriends. Sparkle tried to show that things with her boyfriend to make a success and later on in the film everything worked out. Delores ended up being in jail although the other sister who got accepted to become a lawyer by getting bursaries and have a change of life. The mother came to Sparkles concert and had completely a different attitude as when she was a child she was not feeling good towards the relationship of her mother in the earlier in life. Mother started to be fond of Sparkles and was proud of her singing near the end. This film will win several awards as far as I am concern. It is worth going to see.
