The Best Years of Our Lives

The return of soldiers and officers to their American roots following WW II made for very compelling drama in 1946 as the film swept to several Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Frederic March, Best Supporting Actor for Harold Russell and a second Oscar to Mr. Russell for his courage on the battlefield. William Wyler is in top form as he directs this superb all star cast who know all to well that WW II has changed the dynamic of the world forever. A very realistic, non-sentimental journey for all concerned.
