This is a brilliant film from Martin Ritt in which WOODY ALLEN stars. He had nothing to do with this film but star in this early fifties period piece about the Communist scare that was running rough shot through the Hollywood film industry whose hearings were being transmitted live on early television. Ritt directed beautifully and Allen took direction like a pro in a very good turn as an actor. Zero Mostel is brilliant as usual.
