    The Woman on the Beach

Jean Renoir's great romantic drama about a woman who has many faults and then some. Joan Bennett plays it to the hilt with support from Robert Ryan and Charles Bickford with a small role from Irene Ryan who was to find fame and fortune as Granny on The Beverly Hillbillies. This was almost the end of Joan Bennett's career as her life was mired by a marital scandal that pretty well ruined her career.
