Whew, I struggled to give this movie a 5, but did so on the basis that the rating says so, so if you don't pay. The message of the movie could have easily been conveyed in 1 hour so the 2 1/2 hours was excruciating. Sure Daniel Day-Lewis does a superb job as always and simply overpowers any other characters but then again none of the other characters are properly developed nor are they portrayed by any actors of note. And the ending by the way is absolutely ridiculous. I am now searching for a new breed of critic as this movie critical review is far too generous.

Sir you gave "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" 9/10 You [...] obviously can't handle a film with any substance... [...]
That's why I love the reviews on this site, breaks it down to age and sex, then we can also see what they rated other movies, and see how and why they are writing and rating the way that they do. This was an excellent character movie. (singular) and a beautifully shot masterpiece, the music was excellent. But I can see how it can divide a audience.
Hmmm, yes. Chuck and Larry. There's no substance in the topic of gay men and women being accepted as equals in society. Sure, Chuck and Larry ain't gonna win any awards, but that movie got a message of gay acceptance out to a huge audience. And maybe the person who gave it 9/10 was simply entertained. That's the goal, isn't it? I still have no idea what the substance of TWBB is. Don't go bowling with crazy oil barons?
No country is film, it divided the audience and seeks more then to entertain. And both where made by self indulgent directors.
Yeah, I'm way too shallow to fathom this so called masterpiece of film."Man hates others, dies alone". Yawn, at's been done before and in about 1/2 the time. Kudos to DDL though. Can't wait for "Chuck and Larry, the Seven Year Itch"
