'Ravenous' which made no impact on release in 1999 stars Guy Pierce, an Australian and Robert Carlyle, a Brit in what was labelled a black comedy, something I don't understand at all in light of the contents of the film. In any case, the two play American soldiers during the Spanish American War. It all becomes a type of western of the most gruesome type as circumstances lead to very disturbing events of a most unforgettable nature. It is fully impossible to describe the maniacal horror of the feature. A question might be: "What to make of this horror hybrid"? I believe this is a film ready to be re-discovered and possibly even become some sort of cult-classic.
