    The Catered Affair

A wonderful Bette vehicule in which she plays a Bronx housewife and Matriarch of an entire family who have seen better days. It's quite the sight to see Miss Davis as the slovenly 'hausfrau' to the cabbie/hubby of Ernest Borgnine, mother to Debbie Reynolds and younger sister to Barry Fitzgerald, in his last Hollywood movie. Complications arise when mother wants daughter to have a church wedding with an entire catered affair. It's a good little drama from the pen of GoreVidal, directed by famed Richard Brooks.
