The Violin from Mexico has us all in a turmoil with armies, rebellions, guerrilla warfare and the like. The film fared very well internationally even winning the UN CERTAIN REGARD prize from Cannes. A humble farmer and his son support the guerrilla movement as they want rights they do not now possess. The plot is intriguing as the VIOLIN of the title comes to play a very important role in what becomes a tenuous game of cat and mouse in that political climate leading to horrendous consequences.
