I’m early 30s, married with no children yet, so it’s easy to say that I haven’t seen a Disney movie in forever. But when I saw trailers for Frozen I really wanted to see it and dragged poor hubby out. It’s nice to see Disney doing what it does best, but yet adding some nice modern twists. The storyline is good, but character development is little to nil. They promised that the princess wouldn’t rely so heavily on being saved by the prince, and everyone knew that from all the hype before the movie was released, so I went in thinking that this was a princess with a head on her shoulders. BUT… old habits die hard I suppose and most of the movie the princess was shown chasing after her prince and trying to get her smooch. I enjoyed the twists, but it was almost painful to watch…. They were trying to surprise us with the ending, but by being so stereotypical during the rest of the movie it wasn’t as satisfying in the end…. But this is all coming from a 30 year old. Your kids will love it… you’ll still love it, but maybe the next Disney movie we can leave out the man-chasing just a little bit more. Oh and yes, there are plenty of laughs for all ages… the little snowman can have a movie of his own.
