This movie is everything it needs to be: dramatic, intriguing, believable, engaging, entertaining, smart, expertly directed & acted,... There are very few adjectives that would apply to a crime drama that couldn't be said of Sicario. In fact, I can't think of a single one. Emliy Blunt & Benecio Del Toro really shine here at the hands of Villeneuve, these are career defining roles, especially for Blunt which could potentially be awarded a nomination for an Academy award. The movie itself tells itself like a tale that's believable yet unpredictable. That is true of most of Villeneuve's movies (Prisoners, Incendies,...), some more believable than others though always surprising and intriguing. Here Villeneuve crosses that thin line so delicately that it fits and blends in like only he really can. Suffice it to say, the movie is worth your money, and that's such a hard thing to say in this copy and paste tradition of movie-making. It's sad that it is only getting a limited release at onset and hope it will be picked up by a more general audience in the near future. Villeneuve certainly deserves the acclaim and exposure.
