Tension, tension, tension is what you'll get if you go see this film. The acting is altogether very decent (in the case of Josh Hartnett, excellent, as usual), the sets are phenomenal, the effects are never over the top, and if you buy the premise of the story, you'll have no problem taking everything that ensues seriously. I felt myself really rooting for these characters and didn't expect a couple of the twists they throw in there to avoid this film becoming just another horror flick. This movie takes us back to the off-camera threat (though there are plenty of on-screen vampires, the tension really takes place when they're somewhere and you don't quite know where) rather than the explicit torture we've become accustomed to what with Hostel, the Saw trilogy, etc... Really good interactions and issues between the characters, fitting ending-- altogether I recommend this film. IF you can take the strain of 2 hours of solid tension!
