Honestly, first scene, I thought the acting was going to be sub-par. Turned out to have some reasonable acting, just presented (edited & titled) in a humorous way. Frankly, the story deserves a better title than "Kill the Irishman", which after watching the film. The film itself picked up after that opening scene with better acting, and the story was entertaining. There was a weak point in the presentation of the script, causing it to seem weak, but actually just lacked time to adjust the story from hard-nosed irish man working his way up to the action side of the film. A lot was left to action, and very little of the "story" was continuous in the film script. That "critical side" said, the movie was pretty damn good. Entertaining, some feelings reminiscent of the Departed (also an irish character based film) so naturally it had its moments. Overall, the title makes the movie fall under a genre mistake, where people have no choice but to judge a book by it's cover, but there is potentially a great story here with a better script. So minus two points for that, and you still have an entertaining movie from the actors. Then again, I am irish, so who knows.
