Spike Lee is at his usual themes of guns and their violence, the issue of blacks and the entire spectrum of race and violence in this updating of the Greek play by Aristophanes. The huge, known cast is up to snuff and the film works to a certain degree. My problem is facing the same issues on which Spike Lee focuses time and time again. I wish he would make a radically diverse film that deals not at all with race, violence and guns in Chicago's Southside. Going a totally different route would make Spike films in a category all the more eager to see.
