The movie should focus more on Iwo Jima and less on the the three soldiers used to raise funds for the war, based on the photograph of the soldiers who erected the flag. The ending of this movie was seriously derailed, Eastwood seemed not to be able to decide what the story was about anymore. Really awful editing. And I had a hard time feeling anything, since Spielberg and Eastwood insisted on telling the story in such a way, all the feeling was done for you. It felt like someone was trying to spoon feed me my emotions throughout the entire story and I don't like that. Having worked with hundreds of world war II veterans, most of whom don't consider themselves 'heroes' I found this movie to show stupidity of the general public, a stupidity made all the more stinging, considering what soldiers from all countries in WWII went through. Rent Band of Brothers.
