If you are a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise then you'll probably warm to Need for Speed more than the average viewer. For this latest film based on the popular video game is cut from pretty much the same cloth. Like F&F the dialogue is lame and the acting fairly one note. Star Aaron Paul, villain Dominic Cooper and quasi narrator Michael Keaton do what they can but it's clear the cars are the real draw here. Gearheads are sure to swoon over the featured Shelby GT 500 Mustang and the film, in a rather pleasant deviation from F&F, tends more toward the classical approcah to car chases rather than all out destruction and explosions galore. Goes on a little too long and is geared more toward preteens/teens than adults but worth seeing for the cars.
