    Oz the Great and Powerful

The movie is a prequel to 'The Wizard Of OZ'; the 1939 smash hit and one of the most memorable movies ever, standing the test of time and still being honoured today with releases like "Wicked" (stage musical) and "Oz the great and powerful." In the movie we follow the story of the wizard of Oz, and how he came to be, as well as the story behind the witches of Oz. I saw this movie in 3D:AVX, and found that the 3d affects and the sound-boost from the AVX were the only parts of the movie that were astounding. I wasn't very fond of the acting, especially James Franco. All-in-all the movie is fairly cute and enjoyable with a feel good ending which sheds some light on the mystery behind the man behind the curtain. Recommended for kids and moms, oh, and fans of Oz.
