Only reason I didn't rate higher was because there was too much talking scenes and not enough action! The kids kept telling me they wanted to go home. I agreed. Till the video game sequences came on. Then the cheering and clapping, they were glued to the screen. The 'funny"- if you can call them that - moments were NOT funny. Completely stupid desperate 'humor'. The Ludlow character was absolutely pointless and kept wishing the aliens would take him out. His character alone nearly ruined the movie, with the WORST lines. I kept thinking Sandler knew the actor and wrote his character trying to give him his big break. This movie could have been so much better! They dropped the ball here, if the effects hadn't of been so good, it would have been a total flop. Really the gaming sequences saved the movie.
