    South Pacific

SOUTH PACIFIC based on Tales of the South Sea is an extravaganza that should be seen on the big screen (March 7, 2016.) The movie is a tremendous hit firstly because of the lush, beautiful lyrics and music by Rogers and Hammerstein and the great collaborative work and direction by Joshua Logan. The cast is impeccable from lead players to the supporting players. The singing is glorious and you will want to sing along with all the great known tunes. The film is important as well for the many issues it raises, the most important one being race, but military exploits play a part in this musical set during WW II. And then there is love that dominates the chain of events.

Based on Tales of the South Pacific, (not South Sea) by James A. Michener.
