Atom Egoyan's third major film is again a very dark look at the myriad of problems we all possess in one form or another... and he does mean most of humanity. The story is bizarre with several sections to which one must pay complete attention. It incorporates themes of psychological problems bordering on madness, overly ambitious, untrusty characters and other players with extremely low moral principles. Egoyan shot the film on a shoe-string budget but it looks gorgeous, the olace of principal shooting in the old Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto. The film has many dynamic twists and turns as we expect from Egoyan which makes for quite a creepy. Sombre film.
