When I heard that this 3rd installment would be PG13, probably in an effort to beef up its box office numbers, I had a bad feeling. For the gratuitous, over the top violence was always a key ingredient in the success of the franchise and if I'm being honest, it's strongest selling point. Boy do I hate being right all the time. For even new marquee additions to the cast like Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford can't save this entry from the cheap, rushed, poorly directed and alltogether awful aura that surrounds it. Only the climatic action scene is in any way noteworthy and if not for the comedic work of Snipes and Banderas the rest of the film would be nothing short of interminable. It even manages to cast Jet Li then doesn't bother to give him a fight sequence. I mean are you purposely trying to piss people off? At the end of the day, because of its more family friendly rating, this 3rd entry may gross more than the previous 2, but once word gets out, it may be the death of the franchise. What's sad is, after watching Expendables 3 I don't really care if it is.
